Spoilerboard Surfaces Options for Getting Good Cuts Empty Spoilerboard Surfaces Options for Getting Good Cuts

I plan to use the D2 on a Shopbot Alpha to cut corrugated cardboard, coroplast and occasionally leather and I'm looking for alternatives to an expensive 48x96" self-healing mat to cover the MDF spoilerboard. I'm assuming MDF would quickly dull the blade, and might not yield clean cuts. Any suggestions appreciated.

We have used a MDF cutting surface for years without any problems. Typical setups don't involve cutting into the spoil surface anyway. You want to zero your tool so that it just cuts through the material.
