Direction of cut

How do you control cut direction.  I set the start point and anticipated a counterclockwise cut direction but instead gave me a bad transition at the edge of the profile because it turned to go in a clockwise direction.

The vectric gadget will always cut in a counter clockwise direction as long as you have a closed tool path. If your path is not closed, you may see some unusual directions. The gadget will reorient the blade from a positive x-direction at the start of your first cut and reorient each tool path that follows.

If you are trying to close a tool path in vectric, you will need to use the join open vectors tool, located under Edit Objects.

If your tool path starts on a corner, you will most likely not get a closed cut. I recommend moving all start points to the center of a line or along a straight(ish) curve. This is done with the note edit tool. Just right click and select node edit, select your vector and right click on the node you wish to make the start point or right click in the middle of a line and add a point.

In your 2 dimensional view, you will be able to see the direction of each cut. In the 3D view, you can see the start points for each cut.
